This 1951 Cape Cod was our first home and where our love for renovating began. After moving to Charlottesville from Washington D.C. in 2007, we designed and renovated every inch of this house, starting with the basement and working our way up. We lived here as newlyweds, new dog parents, and parents to three growing kids, and over the years we just kept modifying and improving the home to meet the ever-changing needs of our growing family. To say this was a labor of love, would be an understatement. This home saw a complete interior and exterior redesign and renovation with new and refinished flooring, new windows and doors, an expanded stairwell and remodeled bathrooms and kitchen. A 500-square-foot, second-story addition, created a primary suite. The landscape, hardscape patios, shed and modern playhouse were lovingly curated over 15 years to provide a true backyard oasis in the heart of Charlottesville. Our favorite space- that eat-in-kitchen with wall-to-wall windows bringing the outdoors in and granting full views of the landscaped backyard.

Matt and Julie sold this home in 2021 to start Hinge.
