Throw Another Shrimp on the Barbie

These clients sought out Hinge after walking through our Coastal Breeze remodel. It was a “can you do that, but to another house we might buy?” scenario. Never ones to back down to a challenge, we jumped right in to their home buying and renovation journey, and never looked back. Situated within the Greenbrier neighborhood of Charlottesville, this two-story house from the 1970s awaited a substantial transformation. Looking for a home that would provide respite after busy days at work, our design intentionally created spaces in Aussie Modern style, combining bright open spaces with nature-inspired elements and materials. Throughout the home, we maximized storage to minimize clutter. Our interventions included removing a partition between the original dining room and kitchen to foster a more expansive floor plan, and swapping the locations of the dining sitting rooms. Upstairs, we reconfigured two of the four smaller bedrooms and bathroom to craft a spacious primary suite, and remodeled the remaining bedrooms and bathrooms for children and guests. Throughout the renovation process, all bathrooms were modernized, floors refinished, and the entirety of the house received fresh paint. Our favorite space- No surprises here, have you seen that kitchen?!?! If there was ever a home that felt spa-like, it was this one.
